Ideas That Are Changing Our World

Meet just a few of the movers and shakers of UW–Madison and discover how your university is changing the ways we think and live. Join us for lightning talks with top UW experts who will answer your questions.

Critical Research at the UW: Curious People Change Everything

Hear from UW experts about how massive, world-changing movements begin with the smallest shift.

  • Ken Mayer — an award-winning political scientist with his finger on the pulse of American government, campaign finance, and election administration
  • Jennifer Ratner-Rosenhagen — an author and a research historian who specializes in the history of one of the most powerful forces in the world: ideas
  • Garret Suen — a scientist dedicated to understanding microbial communities and how they impact food production
Hear a campus update directly from Chancellor Rebecca Blank, and help us honor your local Badger of the Year Award recipient Alexis MacDonald ’08. Then join your fellow alumni and UW leaders for a strolling supper. Cocktails will be included.

Alumni of Color Pre-Reception

This is an opportunity for Badgers of color to connect in a smaller, more casual gathering before the main program begins. Join us anytime from 4–6:15 p.m. for complimentary cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, and socializing.

Plus, connect with special guest Patrick Sims, UW–Madison’s deputy vice chancellor for diversity and inclusion.
